Good Energy: The heartbeat of success in small business

Good Energy: The heartbeat of success in small business

In my journey of building and growing my business, I’ve come to believe that success doesn’t just come from hard work, skill, or strategy. At its core, success comes from good energy. For me, “good energy” is about positivity, gratitude, and an ability to celebrate achievements - both mine and those of others. It’s what keeps me focused, connected, and able to pursue my goals despite the challenges. In my work, positivity isn’t just a nice-to-have; it’s a driving force that allows me to create, grow, and connect with people who share similar values.

Growing up, my family taught me what it means to truly support others. I saw my mum time and again express genuine happiness for people around her. She never reacted with jealousy or comparison; instead, she always found joy in other people’s successes, big or small. I remember her celebrating when our neighbours bought a new car, even though we could only afford something modest at the time. My grandmother was also an incredibly giving person. She never arrived anywhere empty-handed and always brought small gifts for others. With a massive garden full of fruits, vegetables, and herbs, she would gather whatever was in season and share it with everyone she visited. She, too, never expressed jealousy. Growing up in such an environment was truly a blessing, teaching me to appreciate others’ success as well as my own.

As my business has grown, I’ve noticed that success can sometimes cause others to turn away or respond with jealousy. Someone I respect said: "Jealousy follows success, always". I didn't understand this until I became successful myself. Some people see only the end result - the growth, the achievements, the “shiny surface” - but miss the sacrifices, the late nights, and the persistence that brought me here. Like many small business owners, I’ve worked late into the night, sacrificed holidays, and often had to say “no” to personal time to build this dream. My family has been my unwavering support, giving me the space to grow and create, cheering me on and making sacrifices of their own. They’re my heroes, and our journey wouldn’t be possible without them.

I’ve learned that if I want to keep growing, I need to surround myself with people who resonate with this positive energy and who truly support my goals. When you align with people who are on the same frequency, you begin to attract more good things - ideas, connections, and even opportunities that help your business and personal life thrive. For me, this means being open to meeting new people who respect my journey and are willing to celebrate each other’s successes. Good energy attracts good energy, and when applied in business, it creates a strong foundation not just for growth, but for happiness, mental health, and a sense of fulfilment.

In small business, positivity isn’t just a personal trait; it’s an approach that shapes everything we do. I bring this energy to my work, infusing it into each course I create, each product I develop, and each interaction I have with customers. I want this energy to inspire others, to make learning a joyful and motivating experience. I believe that with the right energy, we can achieve so much more than we think possible, and I hope to help others feel this, too.

In the end, feeling sorry for others is easy. But to be truly good-hearted, kind, and wise, it takes the intelligence and compassion to be happy for others’ success. This is the good energy that drives me, that defines my approach, and that I hope will continue to make this business and community a place of genuine growth and positivity.
